# Apps and Workflows

Find and pin Ideogram image and video apps, move an existing image into a compatible tool, understand mobile inputs and results, and browse workflows.

An Ideogram app provides a form for a creative task, such as generating an image, removing a background or resizing an ad. Some apps take a prompt; others need a source image and a few controls. Examples include the Background Remover, Object Remover and Ad Resizer. Each app shows your results in **Assets**, and many also have an **API** tab with code samples.

## App, model or workflow: which should I open?

* Open a **generation app** when you want to create from text or reference media and choose a model.
* Open a **task app** when you know the operation, such as removing an object or upscaling an image.
* Open a **workflow page** to browse apps grouped around a goal. A workflow page helps you choose tools; opening it doesn't automatically run a sequence of edits.

See [Image Models](/create/models.md) for model capabilities and [Edit Images](/edit/edit.md) for a comparison of editing tools.

## Find apps

### Apps home

Select **Apps** in the sidebar. A panel opens with the search box "Search all apps and models" and these tabs:

* **Image** and **Video**: the main generate app first, then **Apps**, then **Models**
* **Models**: models you can run on their own
* **Team apps**: apps shared with your team (team workspaces only)
* **Pinned**: apps you saved

Apps you used lately show under **Recents**.

### All apps

For the full catalog:

Select **All apps** under **Pinned** in the sidebar, or open [All apps](https://ideogram.ai/search) directly, to see the full catalog.

This page, **Search the full catalog**, has tabs **All apps**, **Team apps** (team workspaces only) and **Pinned**. Search with "Search apps and models", sort by **Relevance** or **Newest**, and filter by **Capabilities**, **Tags** or **Providers**. Select **Clear all** to reset filters.

## Open and pin an app

Select a card to open the app. Select the **Create** breadcrumb at the top to return to apps home.

### Pin an app

1. Open the app.
2. On desktop, select the pin button in the header.

You can also select the pin icon on its card in **All apps**, or beside its row in the apps panel. Use these catalog controls on a phone.

Pinned apps appear in the **Pinned** tab and in the sidebar below **All apps**. Select **Unpin** to remove one. You need to sign in to pin apps, and your choices follow you to other devices.

## Use an existing image in another app

1. Open an image and choose **Open in app**.
2. Choose an available app that accepts images.
3. Review the source image and settings loaded into its form.
4. Select the app's run button when you are ready.

Loading a source image prepares the form; it doesn't submit a generation by itself. **Use as source** can load the image into the app you already have open. If loading fails, use **Retry** where offered.

The app picker only includes available tools compatible with that input. If a tool is missing, check the workspace and catalog rather than assuming that a copied app link grants access.

## Where are the inputs and results on a phone?

On desktop, the input form sits beside the **Assets** feed. On a phone, the form sits in a **Create** sheet over that feed. Expand the sheet to change inputs and collapse it to view results.

On desktop, **Examples** appears for apps with example content, **Assets** contains your results, and **API** offers supported request examples. Tabs can differ by app and screen size.

**Clear all** in the input form resets editable inputs. It doesn't delete previous generations from Assets or Library. Save any prompt you want to keep before clearing; don't rely on an undo after a reset.

## Why can't I find an app?

Clear search terms and catalog filters first. Check **Team apps** in the correct team workspace if the tool was shared with your organization. Pinning an app is a shortcut, not a separate permission grant.

If the catalog says **We couldn't load apps**, choose **Try again** and check your connection. A loading error is different from a search with no matches. App availability can change by account and workspace.

## Workflows

A workflow page gathers the apps that serve one goal, with example images for ideas. Open one from the links below, or use **All apps** to search and filter the catalog yourself.

| Workflow | What it covers |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| [**Print on Demand**](https://ideogram.ai/workflows/ads-products) ("The best apps for Print on Demand") | Generate with transparency, edit prompts, upscale to 8K and create mockups. |
| [**Ecommerce**](https://ideogram.ai/workflows/ecommerce) ("Start your Ecommerce journey") | Product images, storefront visuals and ad-ready assets for each launch. |
| [**Marketing**](https://ideogram.ai/workflows/marketing) ("Level up your brand") | Campaign graphics and assets that keep your brand the same across channels. |

## Team apps

Team apps are apps made for one team. They show only under **Team apps**, never in the Image or Video tabs, and only while you work in a team workspace. You can't create a team app yourself: Ideogram sets them up and chooses who can see them. If the tab is empty, you see "Apps shared with your team will appear here."

## App list

The catalog changes as Ideogram adds and retires apps, and the text on a card may differ from the summary below. Premium apps need a paid plan or bought credits; see [Available Plans](/plans-and-billing/available-plans.md). Check the run button for a credit quote when one is available. A **\~** before the amount means the quote is an estimate; the final cost can depend on the result, such as a video's duration. See **Settings** → **Usage costs** and [How credits work](/plans-and-billing/available-plans.md#how-credits-work).

| App | Access | What it does |
| ---------------------- | --------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Remix** | Credits | Remakes an image guided by a text prompt, with a **Strength** control for how far it moves from the source. |
| **Precise Edit** | Limited on free | Edits an image with Ideogram 4.5 from a description of the change. Mask an area to change only that part. The result keeps the source image's exact size. |
| **Background Remover** | Credits | Removes the background and returns a transparent PNG. No prompt needed. |
| **Object Remover** | Credits | Removes an object you mark with **Click**, **Paint**, **Lasso** or **Rectangle**. |
| **Ad Resizer** | Premium | Reframes an ad to exact ad sizes and platform safe zones, keeping the text easy to read. See [Ad Resizer](/create/apps/ad-resizer.md). |
| **Colorways** | Premium | Recolors chosen regions of a product photo, each to its own color. See [Colorways](/create/apps/colorways.md). |
| **Material Swap** | Premium | Re-renders chosen regions of a product in a new material, from a preset or your own image. See [Material Swap](/create/apps/material-swap.md). |
| **Upscale** | Premium | Upscales an image 2x, 4x or 8x. Ideogram picks the upscale model, or you can choose one from the catalog. |

For removing backgrounds when you generate, see [Transparent Backgrounds](/create/transparent-backgrounds.md). For video from a prompt, see [Create Videos](/create/video.md).
