Tour of the App

What each item in the sidebar does, what Home shows, and where your results and settings live.

The sidebar on the left gets you everywhere in Ideogram. This page walks it from top to bottom, then covers Home. On a phone, a bottom bar and a More page replace the sidebar.

Ideogram Home with the sidebar on the left and the What will you design? prompt box highlighted, above Get started with Apps and Community inspiration.
Start from the prompt box on Home, or use the sidebar to go anywhere.

The sidebar

Top

  • Ideogram logo: takes you Home. The Collapse / Expand toggle next to it shrinks the sidebar to icons.

  • Workspace switcher: shows Personal or your team's name. Open it to switch workspaces, Create a team, or Manage team if you manage the one you're in. See Team Plan.

Main

  • Home: the start page, described below.

  • Assets: every image and video you've made or uploaded. See Assets and Likes.

  • Collections: folders for your work. Collections you pin show up right under this item. See Collections.

Create

More

Select More for the rest:

  • All apps: the full catalog of apps and models.

  • Studio: edit an image with tools and layers. See Studio.

  • Custom Models: train a model on your own images. See Custom Models.

  • My likes: images you've liked.

  • Batch: run many prompts at once. See Batch Generation.

  • Licensing: shows only if you have a commercial license bought through the app.

Sidebar with the More flyout open and highlighted, listing All apps, Studio, Custom Models, My likes and Batch.
Select More to find Studio, Custom Models, Batch and the rest.

Bottom

  • API: the developer platform, with API keys, usage and billing. See Ideogram API.

  • Upgrade or Buy credits: shows in your personal workspace. Upgrade opens the plans if you don't have one. Buy credits appears on pay-as-you-go when you have 100 credits or fewer left. See Plans and Credits.

  • Bell icon: your notifications, such as likes, new followers, team invites and finished batches.

  • Your avatar: opens the user menu.

User menu

Select your avatar to see your handle, email, workspace and credit balance. With a plan, Buy credits sits under the balance; without one, Upgrade. Then:

  • Wallet & Billing: billing and credits, if your workspace allows it.

  • Settings: your account, plan and team. See Account Settings.

  • API: opens Settings → API Overview.

  • View profile: your public profile page.

  • Theme: System, Light or Dark.

  • Help & documentation: opens these docs.

  • Download iOS app: opens the App Store.

  • Back to Ideogram Legacy: switches to the old app.

  • Log out

Links to the Terms, Privacy policy, Discord, X and YouTube sit at the bottom of the menu.

Home

Home has three parts:

  1. The prompt box, under What will you design? Pick Image or Video, type a prompt and press Enter. Select Add reference images to attach pictures. Ideogram opens the matching app on Auto and starts the run. See Create Images.

  2. Get started with Apps (desktop only): shortcuts to Generate image, Upscale image, Remove background, Generate video and Edit video.

  3. Community inspiration: images other people have published. Start on Explore, switch to Following, or narrow the feed with a category such as Poster, T-shirt or Logo. Search all... finds images by keyword. Select an image to open it.

Where things live

  • Results: every app shows new work in its My assets tab on the right. Everything also lands in Assets in the sidebar.

  • An image's own page: select any image to like, share, download, upscale or edit it, or add it to a collection.

  • Settings: user menu → Settings. The Account section holds Account, Wallet & Billing, Plans and Team. The Developer section holds your API pages.
