The Remix tool is invaluable for making changes to an existing image, whether it was generated in Ideogram or uploaded. The AI uses the original image as a basis to generate a new one, allowing you to control how much influence the original image has on the final result.

How to use Remix

When viewing or uploading an image, you can access the Remix feature in different ways:

  • Click the Remix button in the image details panel when viewing an image.

  • When browsing images, hover the cursor over the image and click the More icon and select Remix from the popup menu.

When using Remix, the prompt used to generate the parent image or the automatically generated description from the Describe function of an uploaded image will automatically populate the prompt box. Additionally, any style tags or other settings from the parent image will be reused. You can modify these elements to adjust and refine the parent image when generating the remixed image.

Remix allows you to specify how much influence, or Image weight, the parent image should have on the newly generated image. Clink on the Remix tab in the prompt box to reveal the available options. You can adjust this weight by moving the Image weight slider left or right. Alternatively, you can manually enter a value ranging from 1 to 100. The higher the value, the more significantly the parent image will influence the generated images. You also have the option to remove the parent image entirely, relying solely on the prompt and style tags to create a new image, just like a normal image generation.
