How can I start using Ideogram to generate AI images?

Sign up for a free account at ideogram.ai and start generating images in your browser.

How much does Ideogram cost to use?

Plan availability, prices, included credits, and feature access are subject to change. See Available Plans and the live pricing page at ideogram.ai/pricing.

Can I use Ideogram to generate images for commercial use?

Ideogram does not claim ownership of your generated outputs or restrict your rights in them. You are responsible for making sure your content does not violate laws, third-party rights, or Ideogram terms. Review the Terms of Service.

When do Slow credits reset?

Credit reset behavior can vary by plan and current product policy. Check the plan and credit information shown in your account, or see Available Plans.

How do I get access to the Ideogram API?

Read Ideogram API for detailed instructions. To access the dashboard and setup a key:

  1. Log in to Ideogram.

  2. Open ideogram.ai/manage-api or the API Dashboard on the left sidebar.

  3. Read through and accept the Developer API Agreement pop-up.

  4. Add a payment method by clicking the banner at the top of the screen or through Billing > Billing information.

  5. Create an API key in API Keys > Create key and follow the on-screen instructions.

  6. Use developer.ideogram.ai for endpoint details.

What is the priority queue?

The priority queue processes eligible generations ahead of slow-queue generations. Priority generation uses priority credits. See Available Plans for the credit overview.

What happens when I run out of priority credits?

If your account has no priority credits remaining, eligible generations may move to the slow queue or require a top-up, upgrade, or later retry depending on your plan and current product state.

Can I choose between generating in the slow queue or using priority credits?

Queue controls can vary by plan and product state. Review the generation options shown in your account before submitting.

Which credits do the Reference and Edit image tools use?

Reference and Edit image generations use priority credits if you're on a paid plan. On the Free plan, these tools run on slow credits.

Can other people see the images I generate?

Images are public by default unless you choose private generation where it is available. See Private Generations.

How do I correct text in my image?

See Text and Typography for prompting and editing guidance.

How can I download images in PNG format?

Open the image, click Download Download icon, and choose PNG from the file type selector if it is available for your image and plan. Some file types and download sizes may require a paid subscription.

Use Ideogram's Download controls instead the browser right-click menu to control the selected file type and size.

How can I download images in SVG format?

SVG downloads are not currently supported in Ideogram. Use the available bitmap formats in the Download menu, such as JPEG, PNG, or WebP. We'll update this page if SVG or vector export becomes available.

Can I remove the background on my generated images?

Yes. Use our Background Remover App for the dedicated app workflow, or Replace or Remove Background tool for background actions from image workflows.


Account Management

I'm having trouble logging into my account.

For Single Sign-On and Social Logins:

  1. Use the same sign-on method you registered with, such as Google or Apple.

  2. If you forgot your password, continue with the password reset options provided by the third-party provider.

  3. Refresh your browser cache and cookies, or try an incognito/private browser window.

  4. Try a different browser or device.

  5. If billing or account access is still affected, contact support here.

For Email and Password logins:

  1. Make sure you're logging in with the same email address. You can double-check previous invoices for this information.

  2. If you forgot your password, enter your email address and continue with our Forgot Password? option to receive a password reset email.

  3. Refresh your browser cache and cookies, or try an incognito/private browser window.

  4. Try a different browser or device.

  5. If billing or account access is still affected, contact support here.

How can I change my profile picture on Ideogram?

Go to My Images in the Library section and click on one of your images. Click on the ... menu and choose the Set as profile picture action in the drop-down.

How can I change my username or email?

At this time, we do not support email changes or username changes. You can change the optional name that appears on your profile by clicking on your profile icon at the bottom and selecting Edit Profile.

How do I reset my password?

For Single Sign-On and Social Logins:

  1. Continue with the password reset options provided by the third-party provider.

  2. If billing or account access is still affected, contact support here.

For Email and Password logins:

  1. If you forgot your password, enter your email address and continue with our Forgot Password? option to receive a password reset email.

  2. If billing or account access is still affected, contact support here.

I deleted my account but changed my mind. How do I recover it?

Account deletion is permanent. Deleted accounts and associated data are not recoverable.


Subscription and Billing

How do I upgrade my free account to a paid plan?

Log in and visit ideogram.ai/pricing or use the Upgrade plan banner in your account settings. Choose the plan and billing frequency through the options on-screen and double-check during checkout. To change plans later, see Switching or Downgrading Plans.

How do I cancel my subscription plan?

Click Manage Subscription in the profile picture menu, then Manage billing or Modify plan, and continue with Cancel subscription. Cancellations must be made at least 5 days before your renewal date. See Cancelling Your Subscription for step-by-step instructions, or Troubleshooting Billing Issues if something didn't work.

What happens to my private images if I cancel my subscription plan?

Private images remain private according to current private-generation behavior, but creating new private images may require an eligible paid plan. See Private Generations.

Do unused Priority credits roll over?

Credit expiration and rollover behavior can vary by plan, top-up type, and current product policy. Review the credit information shown in your account and the live pricing page at ideogram.ai/pricing.

Can I get a refund on my subscription payment?

Subscription payments are non-refundable, per Ideogram's Terms of Service. Cancelling stops future charges while keeping your benefits until the end of the paid period. See Refunds, including what to do about billing errors such as duplicate charges.

Where can I update billing details and view invoices?

Click Manage Subscription in the profile picture menu, then Manage billing. See Invoices, Receipts, and Tax Details, including how to add a company name or VAT/tax ID to your invoices.
