# Describe The Describe feature analyzes any image — uploaded[^1] or generated — and produces a detailed text description. Use it to understand how Ideogram interprets visual elements and to identify the type of prompt wording that would recreate a similar result. ## How to Access the Feature You can access Describe in several ways: 1. From image feeds *(Home and Creations pages)* –\ Hover over any image in the [Image Gallery](https://docs.ideogram.ai/using-ideogram/ui-overview/ui-components/image-gallery), select the **More** icon

at the top of the image, and choose **Describe** from the [More menu](https://docs.ideogram.ai/using-ideogram/ui-overview/ui-components/more-menu-...). 2. From image details –\ In the [Details Panel](https://docs.ideogram.ai/using-ideogram/ui-overview/ui-components/details-panel), select the **Describe** button.\ Alternatively, select the **More** icon

in the upper-right corner and choose **Describe** from the More menu. 3. When [importing an image](https://docs.ideogram.ai/ui-overview/ui-components/prompt-box#importing-an-image) into the [Prompt Box](https://docs.ideogram.ai/using-ideogram/ui-overview/ui-components/prompt-box) –\ In the popup window, select **Describe** to generate an automatic description. 4. When using [Remix](https://docs.ideogram.ai/using-ideogram/features-and-tools/remix) or [Character Reference](https://docs.ideogram.ai/using-ideogram/features-and-tools/reference-features/character-reference) –\ Click the Remix or Character Reference thumbnail at the bottom of the Prompt Box, then select **Describe** from the dropdown.

*** ## Examples of Descriptions When you activate **Describe**, Ideogram analyzes your image and generates a prompt that describes its visual content. {% hint style="info" %} ## Tips The description output depends on the **Model version** you selected. * **Model version 3.0** produces more detailed and slightly longer prompts. * **Model versions 2.0**, **2a**, and **1.0** return shorter, simpler descriptions. If the result isn’t what you expected, crop or zoom in on your image using the [Editor](https://docs.ideogram.ai/canvas-and-editing/editor).
