# Magic Prompt

Magic Prompt helps you craft better prompts effortlessly. It uses Ideogram’s built-in language model to interpret, refine, or expand your text to increase variety and visual quality in the generated images. You can also write in your native language — Magic Prompt translates and enhances it for you.

## Magic Prompt Options

To access the Magic Prompt options:

1. Select the [Prompt Box](https://docs.ideogram.ai/using-ideogram/ui-overview/ui-components/prompt-box) to reveal the generation settings (if not already visible).
2. Select **Magic Prompt** (displayed as the selected option such as <kbd>**Auto**</kbd>) to open the dropdown menu.

### Magic Prompt Modes

* **Auto** — Lets Ideogram decide how many images use enhanced prompts based on the length of your original prompt.
* **On** — Applies the enhanced prompt to all four generated images.
* **Off** — Uses your original prompt without any modification.

Here are a few examples of Magic Prompt in action, showing the enhanced prompts and resulting images.

### Example 1 — Cat and Beach Ball

#### With Magic Prompt Off:

With Magic Prompt set to **Off**, Ideogram generated four images that follow the instructions from your original prompt.

#### With Magic Prompt On

In this example, Magic Prompt generated an enhanced version of the prompt, adding common beach elements and introducing artistic and playful details

In the example above, the first image was generated by the AI according to the enhanced *Magic Prompt* prompt below:

**Tip:** When you select an image, the [Details Panel](https://docs.ideogram.ai/using-ideogram/ui-overview/ui-components/details-panel) shows both the original and enhanced prompts if *Magic Prompt* was active when generating that image.
