Negative Prompt

The Negative prompt feature guides the AI away from generating specific types of images or content. It essentially instructs the AI on what to avoid or exclude in the generated image.

For example, if you’re using an AI to create landscape images but want to avoid beaches, you could use a negative prompt like "beach" or "beach, sand, water, ocean." This helps the AI understand your preferences and constraints, allowing it to produce images that more closely match your intended outcome.

To access Negative prompt, click or tap the prompt box to reveal the options at the bottom and click the More icon located at the end of the prompt box option tabs to open a popup menu with the available choices.

Here are some examples of negative prompt usage:

Here are some tips to get the most out of the feature:

  • Try to use more than one keyword to describe what you don't want.

  • Be as precise as possible without providing excessive detail.

  • It's often simpler and more effective to design prompts that avoid using negative prompts, rather than the opposite approach.

If your negative prompt doesn't seem to be working, check if there’s anything in the prompt that might interfere with or contradict your negative prompt. The content of the regular prompt will always be favored over the negative prompt. For example, a prompt asking for a classical guitar will almost always imply a guitar with strings. Trying to generate a guitar without strings could prove difficult.
