The Credit System
Since the release of version 2.0, Ideogram now uses a credit system for all generations in all available templates and will depend on certain parameters used, such as Rendering, when generating images.
Here are the details:

Note that the Describe function will cost 1 credit for users on the free tier, while it will be free for all paid subscriptions: Basic, Plus and Pro.
The Rendering is not the same thing as the type of credit you use. It is used to tell the AI how much time it should work on a particular image to get more or less details.
The Two Types of Credits:
Priority credits
Generations made using Priority credits are processed in priority and ahead of those made with Slow credits, ensuring that your wait time is nonexistent or very minimal.
Slow credits
Generations that are made with Slow credits may have wait times of up to several minutes, depending on available server capacity and your usage throughout the day.
Priority credits will not roll over to the next month of your subscription. Also, if you cancel your subscription, any unused credits will expire at the end of the current billing period. The same applies to Slow credits for Basic plan subscribers.
Purchasing a Plan
When you want to purchase a plan for the first time, simply click on the "Upgrade Plan" button in the top right-hand corner, near the home page icon.
You will then be presented with a popup window where you can evaluate the most popular plan and its benefits.
From there, you can directly select the most popular plan (Plus Plan shown here) and choose your preferred billing frequency (Annual or Monthly). Click “Upgrade,” and you will be taken to the checkout page to enter your billing information and complete your purchase.
You can also view all available plans by clicking on the “See all plans” button at the bottom. This will direct you to Ideogram’s pricing page, where you can compare and choose the plan (Basic, Plus, or Pro) and billing frequency (Annual or Monthly) that best suits your needs. Click “Upgrade,” and you will be taken to the checkout page to enter your billing information and complete your purchase.
